Trade of the Month: PRC Taping

We recently did a walk through with Phil of PRC taping. Phil is quickly becoming known as one of the guru’s of his craft in the industry, providing regular “Tape Talk” Youtube videos full of useful tricks and tips for his peers. Phil’s craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident in every job he completes. We love seeing this kind of passion in the industry! We’re always impressed that, given the messy nature of taping and drywalling, Phil’s videos are always immaculately clean. He’s a bit of a neat freak! Tough thing to be in the biz, but this just adds to his unparalleled level of craftsmanship.

Many don’t realize that Phil does drywall supply & install as well as taping supply & install. He’s been in the drywall business for over thirteen years, but just went independent as of a few years ago. We recently toured a neat house project Phil is working on as a part of our Instagram Feature Friday series with Kingsgate construction. Phil gave TOOLBX founder Erik some valuable tricks of the trade, and some exclusive techniques he’s picked up over years of being in the taping / drywalling industry. We learned a ton on this tour- from what mud to use before taping, the types of tape Phil uses for specific projects, how to use a bazooka machine, taping tools (for days), product preferences, and some knife skills. Intrigued? Take the tour for yourself on our instagram highlights!
